NOCTURNAL DALLIANCES? NIGHTSPOTTING TO THE SINGAPORE SLING?

In a city that never sleeps, one must then learn how to party....

A day in Singapore doesn’t necessarily end, our guest writer LOO YEW CHUNG will tell you.

In fact, as the night falls, that’s when the party truly begins.

There’s a little something for everyone.

Animal lovers can always look forward to the unique Singapore NIGHT SAFARI. Then last year, Singapore hosted the world’s first night GRAND PRIX. Soon to come – Singapore’s very own CASINO and INTEGRATED RESORTS.

And when you’re truly ready to retire for the night, the NIGHT OWL bus service trawls the city in the wee hours of the morning….

That’s the nightlife folks – time to let your hair down.

Yes indeed. Nightspotting in Singapore is quite the eye-opener.

Just the ST. JAMES POWER STATION is a sight to behold. And somewhere amidst all the city sights, lies the all enduring and very happening ZOUK – one of Singapore’s most famous disco spots.

For the uninitiated however, CLARKE QUAY is the popular hangout spot to begin with. Drinks, food and good company are a potent mix.

Clarke Quay: From outdoor concerts to monthly flea markets....

Flanking both sides of the Singapore River, all the way down to Boat Quay, are a who’s who of fine dining, bistros, bars, clubs and pubs.

But sorry, no sleaze please. It’s all in the name of good fun.

A bit further up the road is the once legendary Mohammed Sultan, now home to popular nightspot DBL-O. And for those a little more subtle, nearby at Robertson Walk is a WINE CONNECTION outlet – perfect for a quiet evening sipping wine and enjoying the good life with friends at your side.

But for those looking for a quick fix at the end of a long day, closer town is where you might expect to go – and you won’t be disappointed.

The ESPLANADE – Theatres on the Bay is but a stone’s throw away from the Central Business District, and this is yet another hot bed for food, pubs and entertainment.

But it is at the doorstep to Suntec City just a little way off, where you find the popular BALACLAVA, a haven for yuppies and office workers to chill and socialize.

Chill with the business crowd or just feel at the top of the world....

And if you want something a little more romantic, the NEW ASIA BAR & GRILL sits atop the Singapore Swissotel Stamford at 71 & 72 Storeys. Talk about dining and partying to a bird’s eye view.

You might even find the time to take a walk down to the Raffles Hotel LONG BAR, where the Singapore Sling was originally concocted.

A day in Singapore doesn’t end – but neither does the night.
